The new home for Cambridge University’s Institute for Sustainability Leadership carved out from an existing 1930’s telephone exchange. The project shows what can be achieved when a strong focus is put on the rigorous application of science-based targets for reducing embodied and operational carbon.

Winner

Leighton House Museum, London, UK

The creative adaption and extension of Frederick Leighton’s house and studio in Holland Park. The project completes the evolution and expansion begun by Leighton, recovering the remaining parts of the original house to provide new galleries, a shop and a café, transforming a fragmented collection of spaces into a cohesive and delightful museum experience, accessible to all.
